Birthday Thoughts

So I will be one year older in a few weeks. If you are someone wondering what I would like for my birthday, I'll make very it easy. I have too much crap, and could use some awesome crap, but... I ask is that in lieu of any gifts, please donate to either of these no-kill organizations in memory of Fry.

In this economy I know that good non-profit organizations could use a little extra help, and what better way to help than to donate to foundations committed to rescuing and finding animals forever homes!

The Milo Foundation
The Milo Foundation is an established nonprofit, no-kill organization providing an alternative for homeless pets throughout Northern California, through education, adoption services, and providing sanctuary for animals until permanent homes can be found. Founded in August of 1994, The Milo Foundation is located on two hundred and eighty-three acres in Mendocino County - offering lots of room for the animals to run and play. Milo houses cats, dogs, puppies and kittens - occasionally farm animals and other domestic creatures find their way to the sanctuary.

The mission of the Milo Foundation is to rescue adoptable at-risk animals, match them to homes best suited to provide lifetime care, rehabilitate those who need it, offer sanctuary to those who are not placed, and educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, including spay/neuter.

Forgotten Cats
At Forgotten Cats, our mission is to reduce the unwanted cat population without killing and to stop the suffering of the thousands of kittens born to abandoned, homeless cats.

Forgotten Cats Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to humanely reducing the homeless and unwanted cat population through TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). We are a NO-KILL organization. We are staffed almost entirely by volunteers who travel and trap cats, provide medical support in the clinic setting, provide foster homes for adoptable cats and kittens, volunteer in our adoption centers and at our adoption events, and donate their time and effort with their computer skills, accounting services, etc. Thanks to the wonderful veterinarians who believe in our mission and work in our clinics for sums far less than they receive in private practice, tax-deductible contributions go directly to help the cats.

An anonymous supporter has committed to match every donation made to Forgotten Cats up to a total of $40,000 from now through the end of January 2009!
